Damascus

Damascus the capital city of Syria and one of the oldest city in the world. This city was invaded by many kingdoms that's why this city is famous for different culture and architectural work. The city was named by the Egyptian pharaoh Thutmoses III and then conquered by Israelites, Assyrians, Babylonians, Greeks, and Nabataea’s before conquered by Romans. The city is considered to be one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. While there are over 2,000! Mosques it’s something like Rome every street will have mosques. Most of the residents are Muslim. Damascus is home to the only stock exchange in the country of Syria called the 'Damascus stock exchange'. One of the oldest and biggest mosques “Umayyad Mosque” located in this city. With a population of 1,368,300, contemporary Damascus is not only the largest city and capital of the Syrian Arab Republic but also a major industrial and commercial center. Damascus University, founded in 1923, remains the country's most prestigious institution of higher education. Another famous thing about Damascus is its steel knives.
  Madurai

It’s well-known city in Tamil Nadu it is famous for its culture, historical events, architectural building, especially for foods. It is one city in the Tamil Nadu in which we can get food at any time. Madurai is called 'The Athens of the East' but Madurai arguably has as much history as Athens itself. The sad thing is that even most people who live here do not know about the rich history of Madurai. The Greeks performed trade with the Pandya Kingdom from the 3rd century BC to the 10th. That signifies the wealth that the City had even in the early centuries. Even though Madurai is a city, you can find a lot of green lands. The Madurai district has a number of villages where agriculture is still the preferred profession. Madurai has many nick name such as Thoonga Nagaram (City that never Sleeps), Naan maada koodal(City of Four junctions), Malligai Managar (City of Jasmine), Koodal Ma nagar (City of Junction) Koil Nagar (Temple city) etc. Madurai is also famous for Jallikattu, a bull-taming sport which is held during the Pongal Festival celebration in the month of January. A historic tradition for ages in Tamil Nadu, the bull-taming sport is played in the city and the suburbs. A specific breed of bull is bred especially for this event every year. According to the legends of Tamil Nadu’s Classical period, the game used to be held to help women choose husbands from among the participants.              Athens

I think you don’t need any introduction to this city. Ancient Athens spanned several thousand years, from about 6,000 BC to about 322 BC. The first Olympic Games were held in Athens in 776 BC. They were dedicated to the Greek gods and continued for about 1,200 years, with palm branches given to the winners. The city’s classical period lasted from 500 to 322 BC. During this time, Athens was a major centre for learning, the arts and philosophy as well as a centre for democracy. It is the great scholars like Socrates, Aristotle and Plato lived. Simply Athens is an art gallery of the world in that world Democracy was invented in ancient Athens, although only men could vote. Voters also had the power to banish politicians from the city for 10 years. Am I still astonishing in that where other civilisations were ruled by kings Greek followed Democratic politics.
